The Hacienda opened in 1956 it began a new trend of appealing to the family market with several pools, a miniature Golf Course, a go-kart track, and no giant showroom or expensive restaurants.

The Ronda Room showcased Billy Ward and his Dominos, Kay Parsons and Eddie Peabody amongst other lounge entertainers.

In 1957 after realizing the mistake of excluding a showroom at the property the Ronda Room was turned into the Jewel Box Theater and featured 4 shows nightly. There was a Dixieland Review, the Don Baker Group The Four Tunes, and others such as Mel Baker and Bruce Davis.

In 1958 the Hacienda offered low budget family oriented shows starting with Cole Porter's "Can Can" starring Denise Durcell.

In 1960 Hacienda drew local dance enthusiasts with a no cover, no minimum policy, and continuous dancing from 6:00pm to 4:00am.

During 1960 and 61 the Lounge showcased the Four Tunes, The Grover-Shore trio, The Key Notes and Kathy Ryan.

Jack Benny attended one of the shows at the property and was impressed by violinist Sandra Karol he asked if she would like to perform a duet with him. Karol, who had performed with many of the greats, was delighted to discover that Jack Benny was an excellent violinist.

During the May, 1965 opening of Hank Henry's Celebrity show so many people were in attendance that they decided to keep it going all night until 5:00 am the next morning.

1968 the Hacienda had a special New Year's Eve show with Kiki Page, the Ink Spots, Strictly Burlesque with Hank Henry, the Topless Models and George Redmonds Orchestra.

1971 The featured show, "Turn it on" showcased starring Jean-Paul Vignon, Susan Anton and others with the Lou Cardo Orchestra.

In Mid 1973 the Azure room opened George Arnold's Fantasy On Ice starring Susan Anton and George Arnold and others.

1975 the Fiesta Room showcased "Spice on Ice", America's only nude ice revue, featuring internationally known skating stars as well as top specialty acts.

1980 Fiesta room showcased Ice Fantasy '80 in 1982 it became "Fire and Ice". 1983 Red Foxx was added to Fire and Ice.

In 1988 Minsky's Theater showcased Minsky's Burlesque show and Red Foxx.

A new Magician was featured in 1991, Lance Burton in a Magical Journey in the Fiesta Showroom. Lance continued successfully all the way through 1996. He received the Mantle of Magic award in 1994 for his philanthropic work with young magicians from the retired illusionist Lee Gabriel. The Mantle has been passed from one Master magician to another since the turn of the century.

Lance was what the property needed. He had a strong audience count with guests staying to gamble after the show. Lance Burton performed in the final year of the property up until June 26th when he left to move to a specially constructed showroom named after him at the Monte Carlo.

New Years Eve 1996 Circus-Circus Enterprises imploded the Hacienda. The Hotel refused to go down all the way, the following day a wrecking ball was used to bring down the parts that didn't succumb to the implosion.

The Hacienda's 40 foot sign featuring a neon cowboy atop a horse is now greeting people at the Fremont street experience downtown.
