Opened in 1979 as Bob Stupaka's Vegas World, the famed Tower ( and name change ) came years later.
The 1146 ft tower is the tallest free standing observation tower in the United States. Offering a sweeping 360 degree view from the restaurant and observation platform atop, there is no better view of the Las Vegas Valley than from the Stratosphere.
The popular Danny Gans performed at The Stratosphere until he opened at The Rio in 1997.
Staged entertainment has been popular at the Stratosphere. One of the longest running shows celebrating 14 years at the Strat is “American Superstars. It started as a lounge show, then moved into its current showroom after Danny Gans left in December 1996
"Superstars" begins, literally, where "Legends in Concert" ends: with an Elvis rendition of "Viva Las Vegas."
BITE, a vampire inspired adult show keeps the audience guessing about the performers. Loud Rock classics accompany a glamorous bevy of female Vampire dancers. Campy and kitsch but great fun, BITE debuted in Aug.2004 and the show remains a favorite five years on.
